FAQs about Grad

1. Are we required to attend? How is transportation to Foothill going to work? You are not necessarily required to attend graduation in order to graduate (as you can receive the diploma later if you'd like). Graduation is more of a celebratory ceremony rather than a required event. Families & seniors will be able to drive themselves to graduation. 2012 class officers are still speaking with admin about possibly providing buses for underclassmen from MVHS to Foothill if they want to go to grad to support seniors but don't have a ride.

2. Can our graduation be a different time? or place? Is the timing still at 9 AM in the morning? The timing and location for our graduation is pretty much set in stone as we have already paid for the down payment of the location earlier in 1st semester. Our graduation will be held at Foothill College at 9 AM.

3. What about two gown colors, no gender separation, and sitting with anyone we choose like every year? No. Every year students were in rows of purple and white (boys and girls respectively) in a striped pattern. As for the option of two colors and no gender separation, not only does this look scattered (thus less unified), but when students receive their diploma, there is a photographer who has a list of the boys' and a list of the girls' names in 2012 that need to be coordinated with each diploma being handed out. Additionally, when the class officers spoke with administration, this was not a viable option.

4. If we decide to wear all purple gowns, what about the people who did not order gowns since they were planning on wearing their older sibling's gown whose graduation colors were purple/white? (For girls), what if we already ordered white gowns? If the class votes on the option for everyone to wear all purple, then girls or anyone who didn't order gowns will be able to order gowns at the same price and/or change their white gowns to purple gowns at no extra cost.
