For our next fundraiser, we will be teaming up with SAT test prep program Ivy Insiders.
Ivy Insiders is an SAT test prep program that has Ivy League Undergrads return to their hometowns over the summer and help kids beat the SAT. Many other SAT test prep classes hire students from that have SAT scores in the top 10%, but the students hired for Ivy Insiders all have SAT scores in the top 1% of the nation, making them much more qualified. -Though the students teaching the classes are proven to be more effective at improving SAT scores, the cost of the class is kept low - nearly half the cost of other SAT test prep programs (such as Princeton Review). $599 will cover the cost of the sessions to be held this summer in mid-July and August, and 2012 will receive about 10% of sales! More information on enrolling in these sessions is to come.

-For now, if you would like to see what Ivy Insiders is all about, there is a free SAT practice exam this Saturday, May 29th from 1:00PM - 5:00PM, in the building above My Art School on S. De Anza Blvd***. This full-length practice exam will be proctored by Ivy Insiders instructors and MV alumni Tarun Galagali, Sophia Liou, and Annie Wu. We're teaming up with the 2012ers from Lynbrook + Tino to have a 2012 IDC Ice Skating Event!

WHEN? This Monday, May 31st (This is Memorial Day - no school!)

TIME? 5:30PM - 7:30PM

WHERE? Cupertino Square Ice Chalet in Vallco Shopping Center

COST? $10 will cover admission + skate rentals. Tickets are being sold THIS WEEK at lunch in the Rally Court.

 

We've rented out the whole rink for all of us 2012-ers, so go meet up with your friends from Lynbrook + Tino and come! There is a maximum capacity, so hurry up and buy your tickets before we run out :)


At the same time, just across the street, we will be holding a fundraiser at WAHOO's Fish Tacos, mmm! So grab a taco (yes, there are vegetarian options :)) before or after ice skating to support our class. Be sure to print out the flyer (available on schoolloop or in the ASB office).

 
 
Mother's Day is coming up (Sunday, May 9th, 2010)! Show her you care by giving her a present of daisies, roses, or carnations :)

For $8, you'll receive your choice of flower (2 daisies, 2 carnations, or 1 rose) in a glass vase delivered STRAIGHT to your doorstep! [*baby's breath (decorative flowers) + ribbon/card included] 

Unfortunately we won't be delivering to houses greater than a 5 mile radius away from Monta Vista.

2012 is uniting with 2011 for this Friday's WINTER RALLY!  We are the SUPERHEROES vs. the 2010 & 2013 supervillains.  Come dressed head to toe in GOLD, and they are in purple.

* Come to RALLY SETUP on Thursday (1/21)!  We will be postermaking & setting up all day after school until about 9pm, so come find us in the Gym Lobby/Gym.

* TIEDYE BONANZA: Bring your own white tee/socks/etc. or buy a plain white tee for $3, and we will supply what you need to create super cool yellow tie dye tshirts to wear at the rally!  At lunch around the rally court, Tuesday - Thursday (1/19 - 1/21)

PICK UP cookie dough items THIS FRIDAY december 4th in the STUDENT CENTER area (either in front or inside) during LUNCH and DURING SEVENTH PERIOD and AFTERSCHOOL (until 4pm)! SELLERs pick up all the cookie dough you sold! if you sold just to yourself or ordered ONLINE, you can pick it up yourself.

example 1: if peter and sara bought cookie dough from christina, christina would pick up the cookie dough and give it to them :)
example 2: if kelly ordered cookie dough online for herself, she would pick it up herself.
example 3: if jacob bought cookie dough for himself and turned in a paper order form, he would pick it up himself.

SWEATS PICK-UP: (FUZZY GOODNESS)
Hey 2012! do YOU want to feel fuzzy goodness-- of the SWEATS you ordered?
Then pick them up THIS coming school week at these certain dates and times:
Monday during 7th period and afterschool (from 3-4)
Tuesday during lunch and the first 45minutes after lunch (12:50-1:35)
Wednesday after school (12:50-1:35)
Sweats pick up will be located in the Student Center Area :)
You have FIVE possible times to pick up your sweats, so pick them up ASAP to have them in time to have some fuzzy goodness for WINTER BREAK :) yepp, almost there guys, just have to get through finals.

Here's how the rest of the process is going to work. We'll be handing out order forms all of this week (they'll also be available online), and starting Tuesday, you can turn your completed order form + money (cash or check) into us in the rally court at lunch. Order forms + money are due Monday, November 16th.

Here's all the different options + prices...
Sweatshirt (no personalization) - $30
Sweatshirt (with personalization) - $35
Sweatpants - $25
And... a special deal ! Buy sweatpants AND a sweatshirt, and pay only $50! ($55 if you want a personalization on the sweatshirt).

Your personalization must be appropriate! (I'm sure we'll have no problems with that, right?) And please make it as l e g i b l e as possible on the order form, or it will very likely get messed up. The maximum number of characters your personalization can have is 12, but if you'd like more than 12, it costs 1 extra dollar per character.

2012 - It's our sophomore year and that means we're finally ordering sweats! The available color options are going to be black, dark gray, and white. We're hoping to distribute the sweatshirts/sweatpants before Winter Break, but in order to do this, we need you to submit your designs by Friday, October 30th.

Here is the criteria for your designs:
-You can use a maximum of 3 colors. (White DOES count as a color, but since you're desig).
-Please don't use gradients, as it would count as multiple colors and would increase the price of the sweatshirt.
-Try to use www.customink.com to make your designs.
-Make your design on a black background (This doesn't mean that black will be the only background option, we just want to make all the designs uniform for voting. We will deal with changing the color scheme of the design for a white background once the winner is decided).
-Type "NameGoesHere" somewhere on the backside of your sweatshirt design to indicate where the personalization is.
-Be sure to mention 2012 somewhere on  your design! (<--- Given. Haha.)
-Keep in mind that we don't get new sweats until senior year. This means that you probably don't want to say "sophomores" on your design, since we'll be using them through junior year as well.
-The company we order our sweats from preferred that we didn't use more than 1 color on the seat (aka the butt haha) of the sweatpants since it's hard to print over the seam.

This year we will vote on the sweatshirt front and back as a set in order to guarantee that they match. However, sweatshirts & sweatpants will be voted on separately. We will work with the winners of the design contest in order to create an alternate color scheme for different background colors.Immediately after the winning designs are chosen, you will be able to order your sweats as well as a personalization.Have fun & good luck!

2012's first fundraiser of the 2009-2010 school year is finally here! Come to Cupertino Pizza My Heart from Wednesday, November 4 - Friday, November 6 any time from 4:00 PM - 8:00. Be sure to grab a flier from the ASB Office or from any 2012 class officer. We WILL NOT be handing out fliers at the actual fundraiser, since the manager will not let us. So be sure to remember your flier!

This is it. The week before Homecoming! Here's the breakdown of all the events happening this week:

FLOATBUILDING: We are having floatbuilding afterschool on Monday and Thursday during 7th period, Tuesday and Friday, starting from during 7th period until 5pm, Wednesday from afterschool until about 4pm, AND Saturday and Sunday from 9-8pm. We are located at Ryan Chui's house, 10640 Madrid Road, easily accessed through the side of the tennis courts :) Please come to help build our float! We are in need of willing helpers! And don't forget to check below if you can donate anything! 
RALLY POSTERMAKING: Starting this Tuesday, 9/29, and onwards (basically everyday), we are having Homecoming Rally Postermaking! Meet in the Student Center afterschool until 5pm to help make our awesome homecoming rally posters! Also, Homecoming Rally setup is Thursday Night, 10/8, from afterschool until 10pm. We are definitely going to need help this night, getting our rally posters and float ready for Homecoming Day!
POWDERPUFF: This Thursday, 10/1, at lunch, be at the upper field to support your class's team of 15 girl football players and 20 guy cheerleaders as we dominate 2011 in our Powderpuff game :) All you need is to be there with some class spirit. Be ready to cheer!
MOVIE NIGHT: is this Friday, 10/2, from 6pm to 9pm in the Student Center. Food and beverages include Cap'n Crunch and milk. We are watching... The Office! or episodes from the Office, if you want to get technical about it :) Buy a ticket for $1 at lunch from Tuesday until Thursday! You can come at the door too for the same price, but you are not ensured cereal and milk. So buy your tickets ASAP! 
CLASS T-SHIRTS: You can get your Class T-shirts on FRIDAY during 6th and 7th period (ONLY IF YOU ARE AN ASB GOLD CARD MEMBER). At floatbuilding, and at Movie Night, t-shirts will be available to everyone. With an ASB Gold card, they are free, so make sure you get one :) If you have a regular ASB card or no ASB card, shirts are $10. If we still have some shirts left, and you haven't gotten your shirt after Friday, we will be selling on Monday 10/5 and/or Tuesday 10/6 during lunch in the rally court. 
DRESS UP DAYS: Allllright, this is for Homecoming Week. But you can start planning your Homecoming week outfits! Dress up days are:
Monday: STAGES OF LIFE (baby, old man, no teenager)
Tuesday: MUSIC GENRES (country, rock, etc.)
Wednesday: DECADES (60s,70s, 80s!)
Thursday: Class Theme Day (You can wear Cap'n Crunch, Froot Loops, Lucky Charms, or Honey Nut Cheerios themed clothes)
Friday: (RALLY DAY) Class Color Day (Wear your class t-shirt, or other hot pink articles of clothing!)
FLOAT SET-UP: Be there, Thursday at the MVHS Basketball courts, from 3 to 11pm to assemble our LAST AMAZING 2012 FLOAT!  We REALLY need as much help as possible, and ESPECIALLY need LIGHTS.  Flood lights, shop lights, christmas lights.. contact us if you have any for borrow!  We also need a parent driver to pick up our float truck on Thursday at 2pm.  PLEASE contact us ASAP for more information if you have a willing parent.  Final float set-up continues on Friday, 3:30 to 5pm at Cupertino HS before public viewing & the HC game.
RALLY SET-UP: It is happening in the gym on Thursday night, simultaneously with float set-up!  Please come!  Email us if you are interested in rally set-up on rally day during periods 1 to 3 (PEOPLE WHO CAN MISS ALL THREE PERIODS GET PRIORITY), or in participating in a rally game.
